Laurie Turi
Director of Operations

Responsibilities: Operational standards, training, franchisee support, and field staff supervision

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Egg omelet with Provolone cheese on Italian, untoasted, with spinach, tomatoes, and ranch dressing

Laurie Turi was born in Hartford, CT, raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY and settled in Rhode Island in 1983.  She bought her first SUBWAY® restaurant in Cranston, RI in 1988.  By June 1989, she was a multi-unit owner.  As of 2009, Laurie oversees ten restaurants.  In August of 2009 she joined the development staff as the Director of Operations.  Laurie has four daughters and six grandchildren who she enjoys immensely.

Mimi Phillips
Director of Franchise Sales
& Store Development

Responsibilities:  Franchise sales and lease negotiations

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Veggie patty on Honey Oat, untoasted, with lettuce, pickles, olives, onions, and hot peppers

A New England girl at heart, Mimi Phillips spent 15 years in Southern California working with start-up companies and learning the franchise business.  Upon returning to Massachusetts, she founded two businesses; manufacturing and distributing gourmet crepes and developing her own take-out deli concept.  She has been working with SUBWAY® entrepreneurs and negotiating SUBWAY® leases as Director of Franchise Sales and Store Development since January 2003. She is a graduate of franchisee training school in Milford, CT.  In her free time, Mimi enjoys renovating her 200 year old house, gardening, and walking the local cranberry bogs.

Cynthia Hemmer
Development Assistant

Responsibilities:  Site viability, applicant pre-screening, and leasing support

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich: Tuna on Honey Oat, untoasted, with pickles, onions,  salt and pepper

Cynthia Hemmer joined the Dixon/Turi team in 2005 as Office Manager.  She attended Roger Williams University where she studied Computer Information Systems and Psychology. She has worked in an office environment providing customer service since 1999.  Her affinity for technology has earned her the nickname “Techie Diva” among her co-workers.  In 2009, she moved into our sales and leasing department where she pre-screens applicants and assists with leasing and site development. She is a graduate of franchisee training school in Milford, CT. Cynthia resides in Rhode Island with her husband, daughters, and two cats, Amadeus and Captain Paw.

Danielle Chouha
Marketing Coordinator

Responsibilities:  Local marketing support, marketing plan development, and liaison between franchisees and advertising markets

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Italian BMT with Provolone cheese on Italian, toasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, olives, onions, banana peppers, oil and vinegar with a little salt and pepper

Danielle Chouha has been the Marketing Coordinator for the Dixon/Turi territory since 2006.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.  In her current position, Danielle’s expertise helps prospective and existing franchisees create comprehensive marketing plans. She develops and coordinates local store marketing and acts as a liaison between the local agency partner and SFAFT. No stranger to the business, she has six years of experience working as a Sandwich Artist and Shift Leader in her family's SUBWAY® restaurants. She is a graduate of franchisee training school in Milford, CT. After all these years, Danielle still enjoys a tasty SUBWAY® Sandwich.

Ed Passarelli
Accountant

Responsibilities:  Financial advisor to Development Agents

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Spicy Italian with Provolone cheese on Italian, toasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, and oil and vinegar

Ed Passarelli is semi-retired and has performed accounting and financial services on a part-time basis for SUBWAY® Development since 2002.  Prior to his retirement he spent most of his career in Television and Radio Broadcast Accounting.  He was Business Manager of WPRI-TV, Providence, and later Vice President of Finance of Knight-Ridder Broadcasting, the parent company of eight television stations throughout the United States.  Ed was also co-owner of Creative Communications Associates, a company that produced the "London Week-End News" and "Crime Stoppers 800", a national syndicated television show.  Ed has five children and thirteen grandchildren.

Kate Ruff
Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities:  East Providence office administrative support

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Spicy Italian with Provolone cheese on Flatbread, toasted, with all the veggies except cucumbers and green peppers

Kate Ruff joined our team in June 2010 as Administrative Assistant.  She graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in 2002 where she studied Visual Communications and Graphic Design.  She became a freelance graphic designer in 2003 and started her own graphic design company in 2008. Although it was something she thoroughly enjoyed, she found her true calling as an Office Assistant.  Her organizational skills and professional approach has proven to be a strong asset for the SUBWAY® development office. Kate has recently moved to the Providence, RI area and looks forward to making it her permanent residence.

Cathy Gillis
Construction & Design Coordinator
Transfer Assistant

Responsibilities:  New restaurant construction, remodels, and transfers

A native resident of Connecticut, Cathy Gillis joined the Dixon/Turi team in 1995.  She has been in the food and hospitality industry for almost 30 years. Her career with SUBWAY® began as a SUBWAY® restaurant manager before advancing to general manager of multiple SUBWAY® locations. She then joined the development team as a field consultant for four years.  Her knowledge and experience made her the perfect fit for a move into the Mystic Office as our Construction Coordinator and Transfer Assistant. Cathy has two sons, three dogs, and a cat. She enjoys gardening and vacationing in Florida.

Jen Geise
Construction Assistant

Responsibilities: Mystic office administrative support and construction assistance

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Turkey and Provolone cheese on Italian Herbs and Cheese, untoasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, extra banana peppers, mayo, salt and pepper

Jen Geise was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and attended college in upstate New York. After graduating from college, she moved to Northfield, NJ where she spent 5 years working in the hospitality industry. She returned to college in 1993 to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. In 1997, she and her husband moved to Connecticut where she worked for 11 years as a homecare nurse. In 2008, she joined our Mystic team assisting with construction and transfers. Jen has two children.

Keith Dixon joined our team in 2010 as a Construction Assistant. No stranger to the SUBWAY® business, he is the son of SUBWAY® Restaurants’ first franchisee, Brian Dixon. Keith attended Dean College in Franklin, MA where he majored in Communications. Keith was immersed in the SUBWAY® business from an early age. He is an experienced SUBWAY® restaurant manager. He is also an avid New York Giants fan and enjoys quality time with his friends. His outlook on life brings a positive energy to the development office. Keith’s goal is to own SUBWAY® restaurant.

Thomas Messa
Senior Field Consultant

Responsibilities:  Ongoing operational support to franchisees

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Turkey and bacon on Wheat, toasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, oregano, honey mustard, and mayo

Thomas Messa joined the development team in 1998 when the territory had about 40 restaurants.  Over the course of the territory’s development, Tom played a dynamic role in the opening and on-going support of new restaurants.  With degrees in Education, Organization & Administration, and Counseling, Tom is well positioned to guide our field staff as Senior Field Consultant.  Tom’s achievements span both the restaurant & hospitality industry and community service. He was instrumental in creating the territory monthly newsletter.  He is passionate about helping our franchisees and getting things done.

Sarah Chatell
Field Consultant

Responsibilities:  Ongoing operational support to franchisees

Sarah Chatell has been a field consultant with the Dixon/Turi team since 2006. She attended Rhode Island College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.  Sarah brings more than twenty years customer service experience to our SUBWAY® team. Sarah joined SUBWAY® when she met Jim Turi at a local steakhouse where she was the front of the house manager and office administrator.  Sarah embraces the team environment created by working closely with our franchisees.  She is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island and currently lives there with her two daughters and their dog, Bella.

Jodi Turi-Keramidas
Field Consultant

Responsibilities: Ongoing operational support to franchisees

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Veggie Delight on Wheat, untoasted, with lettuce tomatoes, pickles, green pepper, onion, hot peppers, vinegar, and pepper

Jodi Turi-Keramidas was raised in the SUBWAY® business.  As a teenager, Jodi’s first paycheck was earned as a sandwich artist in her parent’s SUBWAY® restaurant.  After receiving a degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology and Business Leadership from the University of Wisconsin and relocating to New York City to work as an international employment recruiter, her passion for SUBWAY® brought her back to Rhode Island.  Jodi and her husband Rob have been franchisees since 2001 and currently own four restaurants in South County, Rhode Island.  She has been a field consultant for the Dixon/Turi office since 2007. Jodi’s favorite part of her job is assisting franchisees and their teams in starting the first chapter of their own stories.  Jodi and Rob have three children, who they are grooming to become Sandwich Artists.

Jeff Varrecchione
Field Consultant

Responsibilities:  Ongoing operational support to franchisees

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Teriyaki Chicken with Provolone cheese on Honey Oat, toasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, green peppers, onions, and banana peppers and Sweet Onion sauce

A native of Rhode Island, Jeff Varrecchione joined our team in 2008 as a field consultant. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from UMass-Lowell where he was a radio broadcaster for two years on WJUL Lowell for the UMass-Lowell Riverhawks Division I Hockey East Team.  After three years in the banking industry, Jeff went into food service management for five years before joining SUBWAY®. He is an avid URI Men's Basketball fan and attends games each year. He is also an avid New England Patriots fan. He owns a home with his beautiful wife, his two precious daughters, and his two Mini-Pins Schultzie and Scooby.

Lauren O’Haire
Field Consultant

A lifetime Rhode Island resident, Lauren O’Haire began working for SUBWAY® in 2004 as a sandwich artist and manager.  She joined the development office in 2008 working as a field consultant. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree.  Lauren has a genuine interest for local politics and law.  She enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and running.  She loves SUBWAY® for our health conscious menu and fresh products.

Stacey Greely

Stacey Greeley grew up in Oakdale, CT and graduated from Dean College in 1998 with a degree in Business Management.   Since her father has been with SUBWAY® for 35 years, Stacey grew up in the SUBWAY® family. She started working for her father in 1993 as a sandwich artist and then became a manager. Stacey is also a graduate of franchisee training in Milford, CT.  She became a field consultant for the development office in April of 2010 and brings her experience and operational skills to each franchisee she supports.

Tyler Stakutis
Field Consultant

Responsibilities:  Ongoing operational support to franchisees

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich:  Chicken Salad with Bacon on Wheat, untoasted, with lettuce, tomato, salt and pepper

Originally from Maine, Tyler Stakutis joined our team in 2010 as a Field Consultant. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University with an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management. Tyler spent six years working and managing a Subway Restaurant in Cranston, RI. During his time as a manager, Tyler gained a working knowledge of the Subway business. Today, he supports franchisees by imparting that knowledge to help them improve store operations and increase profitability. In his free time, Tyler enjoys playing guitar and watching sports.
